Three Rivers Cookbook I “The Good Taste of Pittsburgh” compiled by Child Health Association of Sewickley, PA 1973
The proceeds were to go to the Associate for their child welfare work which in the past included things like studying water fluoridation and providing milk in schools.
This is a popular book! There is a second edition (I don’t have that one) and this one went into more than 20 printings–about one a year into the 1990s. The proceeds were over 1.5 million.
Lots of illustrations of local sites.
There is a section of recipes from local restaurants and one of “nationality favorites” which had a lot of recipes largely from local churches catering to Polish, Greek, German, and Ukrainian communities.
Headnotes appear on the recipes (my favorite) and my copy had a fair amount of notes from a previous owner.
