What’s Cooking in Education in Carroll County (undated) complied by Loretta F. Hill on behalf of the Carroll County Education Association in Westminster, Maryland. Dixie Elmes and Ann Novell were thanked for helping with proofreading, rewriting, and organizing.
Proceeds from the book went to benefit the Carroll County Sexual Abuse Treatment Center for Families and Children, Carroll Hospice, and Northeast Social Action Program.
This is a big book and very well organized. There are sections for everything from appetizers and beverages to confections that are then broken down into subsections for “balls and logs” and candy and cookies.
All of the contributors are named and often their connection to Carroll County Education is included. They contributed recipes from gumbo to potato soup with Irish dumplings to salad dressings and apricot balls. Some small illustrations and poems are scattered with in.
An updated version of Shirley Altvater and Elmer Wolfe’s Marinated Tomatoes from What’s Cooking in Education in Carroll County appears in my grant cookbook, limited copies are available for the price of shipping.
